Introduction

The HQS Distiller is HQS' solution for extracting the spectral decomposition of a large matrix in an selected energy window.

DOS vs partial spectral decomposition

Applications

An ubiquitous challenge in science and engineering applications is to find the spectral decomposition of large matrices. While a complete spectral decomposition is not possible for large matrices, often it only required to obtain a partial spectral decomposition. For example, the determination of the (quasi-)stationary state whose evolution is governed by a Lindbladian can be formulated as the problem of finding the spectral decomposition of the Lindbladian with eigenvalues close to zero. Similarly, understanding the properties of spin qubits requires the determination of quantum dot states close to the conduction band edge, which again can be posed as the question of distilling the partial spectrum of the semiconductor hosting the spin qubits. HQS' Distiller provides you with an easy-to-use solution addressing your need of finding partial spectra of large matrices.
